You Should Not Care About Terrorism

You should not care about terrorism, or at least it should be no more of a worry than a passing thought. You will not die of terrorism. If you are to die of "terrorism", it is likely to be gang-related . . . more

About Me

Describe Yourself:Once I was watching the news and they put a poll up on the net to see where the public thinks Boeing should move and the options were Seattle, Denver, Dallas, and "I don't care"....well, I must have been clicking the I don't care one and then hitting reload for hours, and yes, it did allow me MUCH more than my one vote. In fact, when the news broadcast went out, it said something like, "13% of you think Boeing will move to Denver, 15% to Dallas, 18% think Boeing will remain in Seattle, and an overwhelming 52% of you didn't seem to care" (oh baby, my couple thousand votes kept me laughing so hard when I actually saw it on the news!

Have you found your perfect mate?? If you think about it, 6 something billion people are living today and about 60 billion people have ever lived, so it's weird but 10% of the people who have EVER lived are indeed living today. What if your soul mate is among the 90% who are no longer living? Seriously, what if your perfect person actually lived in the late 1700's, and yet he/she died countless generations ago so of course you two never met? What if your perfect soul mate hasn't been born yet but will be? Hmm, it makes you think...

Why is it that the "wife" on the old Wendy's commercial can't keep her husband from going around telling about his Wendy's obsession? You always see her be like, oh no, here we go again. You would think that they would have had some hard dinner conversations over getting some help or the threat to the marriage. I'm waiting for the "I want a divorce" Wendy's commercial where they don't talk about food but just cry. Hold each other, and cry.

I tried to hug a north korean military official in a bears costume once...he took me down. Music is my life. I'm a boy, a man. I have tried everything and yet nothing at all. I've hiked through North Korea but I've never smoked. I've lived in a dorm, an apt, a fraternity, and yet none of them truly exhibit what I want. Show me, teach me, I want to learn. I majored in cellular and molecular biology with a minor in chemistry, so I can handle what you throw at me. Still, show me the world and bring me into bliss. I'm a fan of PLAYING all sports including wallyball (which is volleyball in a racquetball court). Let's see, because of being an eagle scout, I had the opprtunity to go hiking in North Korea. I love camping as well but I find it hard to find other people into the outdoors. I'm a total goofball and have random trivia facts (except about literautre and the arts so if we tried Trivial Pursuit they're all yours). I worked in a cancer research center but I'm still deciding whether I want to be an oncologist (cancer dr.) or a high school choir teacher. My high school choir teacher had a profound impact on me (and no, not in the try on this new uniform for me and see if it fits, kind of way) such that I was the choir president, lead in the musical and founder of a barbershop club (at MVHS). I play guitar. I love the beach and random acts of spontaneity (I once went hiking on a trail with my friend russell wearing bike helmets and we played Yatzhee and had a picnic while others hiked by). I'll talk about any subject and I still think that there are few better nights than sitting back, staring at the stars, eating tomatoes like fruit (can be substituted with another fruit if you hate tomatoes) and talking about everything from cosmology to quantum mechanics to history to philosophy (truth, beauty, power, love, knowledge, society, etc.) to psychology and politics (although not the last two as one) and talk the night away, and then go rollerskating or something the next morning. I do cook although I'm much better with appetizers. I love sports and can hold my own in whatever I try, although you know you'll always win. I'm a sucker for puppy dog eyes, a walk down the street holding hands, a nice kiss to the neck, intelligence mixed with humor, and voice. Music soothes my soul. I recently graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a BS in cellular and molecular biology and with a minor in chemistry. I am looking either to become a doctor (maybe an oncologist) or a high school choir teacher. I would love to be a volunteer firefighter and work for a program such as doctors without borders to travel the world more than I already have. I have hiked in NORTH KOREA as part of the 1st group of American civilians to be allowed to go (beating Madeline Albright) by many weeks. I sometimes make this weird "meow" sound whether or not people are around. I think that there are certain things that I would like to see changed about this world, but instead of complain about them, I would prefer to be the one to put my foot forward and seek change. This world will not change unless we the people take it upon ourselves to make it change. Thus, I post many bulletins that you may want to consider looking over. I am always looking to learn. I sincerely believe that you learn something new each day whether in a job, in a classroom, in every day life, or even in a day dream. What will you make of it though? Will you use what you learn to help yourself and others grow? If I could offer any advice, I'd likely tell you to live each day as if it were your last (or to GET AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER and go do something). You only have one life here, and if you waste it now, you can NEVER make up the time you've lost. Also, in the words of Bob Dylan "Don't criticize what you can't understand" -
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:Ok, here is where you may lose interest. If you are just looking to have a good time, move on, I don't care to hear how much you drink, chill with friends, or smoke out. You have to have a passion in life and I'm not just meaning a religious or political one. You have so many talents and you have opportunities put in front of you each and everyday and you get to choose whether or not to actually take hold of them or let them slip through your fingers. You do things not because they're easy but because they are hard. You should be intelligent. You need to stimulate my mind if you ever want to reach my soul. If your views on the world do not extend further than your nose, you need not apply. If you have not held the door for someone or listened to someone "bitch" without wondering when they're going to help you out, start walking towards the door, I'm uninterested. If I still have your attention, you should be one who enjoys going out and actually DOING something. Let's go hiking. If you aren't one for the outdoors, let's go roller skating. If physical activities are still beyond you, come sit outside with me and stare out at the stars and let's talk about how we're going to reach them. Don't just tell me how you'd change the world, tell me what steps you've taken to empower yourself, and even more, OTHERS. Sit down with me and we'll break out guitars and sing. You should be touched and moved by music. Music should be dangerous to you. It should be something that has such a profound effect upon you such that you are never the same after hearing it. You should educate me. There are many things that I do not know and I'm willing to listen. In fact, I want to listen. Oh, btw, you MUST have an open mind. Music should move you in a way nothing else can. Your voice should soothe even the savage beast inside me. Show who you truly are and help contribute to the vast stores of beauty in the world. BTW, if you SING, let me know...!

Dennis McGinnity, Nov 12, 2009, 12:09AM ESTdude, u are too cool, Im a blues/rock/ country musician/ folk/bluegrass!!!!
ur right on the money with ur comments about passion. there is a definite paucity of passion in the world, and it is our job, as musicians to bring back the passion!!!
Just like Stevie Ray sparked passion that was lost in the blues!! -
